Devoteam recently finished a successful digital transformation project at Belgian government organization De Watergroep. To top it all: A nomination for the Belgian Publica Awards!
Integration as a unifying factor of digital transformation
With 3 million customers, 175 municipalities, 30,000 kilometers of water supply and more than 1,500 employees, De Watergroep is the largest drinking water company in Flanders.
Mid 2016, De Watergroep took the initiative to start an ambitious digital transformation process, with the main goal of improving operational excellence with the focus on social interest. This has led to:
- Faster response times to 3 million customers experiencing a leakage or malfunction in the more than 30,000 kilometers of water pipelines by digitizing the issuing of work instructions to service engineers.
- Increased productivity for De Watergroep’s staff (1,500 people) through self-service solutions. From 6 to 8 productive working hours per day by removing waiting times and digitizing time-consuming administrative processes.
- Linking the new software systems and issuing the right data to different Front-End and Back-End systems through a new integration architecture connected to an API management platform.
The Publica Awards nomination
The digital transformation process called “Integration as a unifying factor of digital transformation” has been nominated for the 2018 Publica Awards in the Technology category.
The Publica Awards are presented each year to the most innovative and original projects within the various sectors of the Belgian government. We are proud to be nominated for this together with De Watergroep and await the award ceremony on 25 April.
