What is your role at Devoteam?
As Managing Director I am ultimately responsible for Devoteam Netherlands. The nice thing about my role is that I gain the confidence to keep all colleagues together and implement smart changes together. This with the aim of achieving the right results.
What is the achievement at Devoteam that you are most proud of?
I am most proud of what we as Devoteam Netherlands have achieved in the past two years. This is thanks to the entire team that ensured that we were able to actually make these steps.
In addition, I am proud of the way in which we continuously underline the team spirit, but also continue to pay attention to each individual. This working method, in combination with the knowledge we have in house, also wins the trust of our customers, resulting in beautiful and challenging projects.
A concrete example of underlining the team spirit is our monthly breakfast session. In it we discuss all interesting and relevant updates that affect the organization. These breakfast sessions give everyone the opportunity to respond to the changes and to ask questions if there is any uncertainty. The accessibility and transparency ensure trust and a positive working atmosphere.
What is the most important skill you need for your position?
I think passion for your job is very important. No day is the same and you have to deal with all facets of the company. I am constantly trying to see what is going well and where extra attention is needed, so that we look to tomorrow and not just get stuck in the issues of the day.
If you had to choose again and you couldn’t go into IT for work, what would you do?
Sailing Instructor! And then I do that for sailing, not for teaching. While sailing I can completely clear my head and focus completely on the boat, the water and the wind.
