Meet Ashish

What is your role at Devoteam?
My name is Ashish Kumar and I am a Senior Consultant at Devoteam Netherlands. Last July, I became part of the Integration Unit which is now the S Platform team. I have been working for around 11 years within multiple roles and with different capabilities for Finance, Telecom, and Logistics clients. My field of expertise is TIBCO BPM and Integration Suite. I am also heavily invested in other integration platforms such as MuleSoft, cloud platforms, containerization, and pipeline automation. In a nutshell, you can say I have an interest in the latest and greatest trends and tech adaptations in the IT ecosystem.

What is the achievement at Devoteam that you are most proud of?
Frankly speaking, after 6 months, I consider my decision to join Devoteam itself a great thing as it provided me exactly the environment I was looking for to implement my skills. I have been in development and consulting roles for a long time but within this short time at Devoteam I got opportunities to work on aspects like client proposals, planning, architecture, effort estimates, and comparing multiple integration technologies, which adds new directions to my career and helps me to grow as a successful architect.

And not to forget, my article on MuleSoft is going to be featured on the first-ever Devoteam TechRadar, which I am really proud of.

What is your favorite technology?
It is not just one but a bunch of stuff I like to work on which collectively makes remarkable projects and seamless deliveries possible. To name a few: I like the DevOps approach, working on API development (TIBCO, MuleSoft), automating pipelines (Jenkins, Gitlab), working with cloud platforms, and containerization.

What are the most important skills you need for your position?
I think as a Senior Consultant it is very important to understand the client and suggest the most efficient, optimal, and feasible solution. It is not about saying YES to whatever the client asks but more about guiding them in the right direction. Apart from technical skills, you should also be self-motivated and self-aware of your surroundings with respect to the current digital landscape.

If you had to choose again and you couldn’t go into IT for work, what would you do?
If not IT then I would like to do something where I can create things, maybe paintings or a custom computer rig. Ohh, I would also like to create a crypto mining rig and who knows I may churn a business out of it :).
