This step-by-step manual by one of our Data & Analytics consultants dives into setting up Oracle Cloud Analytics in 11 steps.
When I was working for Oracle Turkey, before I joined Devoteam 3 years ago, I got really interested Oracle BI Technologies. An interest that has never disappeared. So when I heard about the Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) training session in Utrecht, I was of course very interested in attending.
I have worked with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) on various occasions, such as creating a reporting solution for OFSAA outputs, some BI-Apps (OBIA) implementations, and other analytics solutions in Telecom, Banking and Insurance companies. All were on-premise solutions.
When I arrived in Utrecht Mr. Shiva Oleti, the instructor, helped me to recover my knowledge on the subject quickly. The 4-day training introduced the Oracle Analytics Cloud environment; and also provided hands-on labs for attendees. In these labs we were able to create our own OAC instances; and develop dashboard and visualizations on top of them.
The agenda was quite comprehensive. After some sessions to introduce OAC and DBaaS; each attendee created their own instance. After that the instructor went into detail even more. We did on-hands workshop sessions regarding Analysis and Dashboard Reporting, RPD and Catalog Lift & Shift, Data Loading techniques, Data Modeling, Security and Administration and Data Visualization.
I tried to prepare this manual as a starting point for Oracle Analytics Cloud. Mr Oleti’s continued support made all of this possible. He gave me access to their training environment and helped me in every step of the process.
