What is your role at Devoteam?
My role within Devoteam is Business Consultant within the Social Domain. For my clients, this translates into roles such as Product Owner, Business Analyst, and Information Analyst at the intersection of Business and IT, within or associated with the Social Domain. At the moment I work as a Business Analyst for the software development companies Join4Siss and Heart for Health.
What is the achievement at Devoteam you’re most proud of?
I am most proud of the tremendous growth – market share, team size, and expertise – of the Social Domain team. That is not an achievement that can be specifically attributed to me, but I am extremely proud that I am part of the Social Domain team and the ‘Continuous Development of Social Domain’ program.
What is your favorite technology?
My favorite technology is the technology that solves the customer’s business challenge most efficiently and effectively. Indeed, I don’t have a favorite technology and look at technology from a different angle than most techies. In fact, with solutions, I look at all facets of POPIT (People, Organization, Process, and Information Technology) and I determine the ‘value versus effort’ together with my stakeholders.
What are the most important skills you need for your position?
The art of translating business issues into solutions in such a way that both business stakeholders and technical stakeholders speak the same language to create consensus about what needs to be developed.
If you had to choose your career again and you couldn’t pick IT, what would you do?
Then I would like to become a teacher or trainer. I enjoy teaching other people, supporting them in their development, and seeing them grow. I get a lot of energy from that.
